What is Supper in Solidarity?
Host a meal. Share a story. Make a difference.
By gathering friends, family, or colleagues around a shared meal, you can spark meaningful conversations about the experiences of refugees and migrants while raising vital funds for the Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants.
For many in our community, food is more than just nourishment—it’s a connection to home, a reminder of family traditions, and a source of comfort in difficult times. Sharing a meal brings people together, creating moments of joy, belonging, and understanding. With every bite, you will be helping us provide essential support to refugees and migrants who are destitute and face hunger daily.
Whether you raise £20, £200 or £2,000, you could help sustain our vital services for those with nowhere else to turn. Every pound raised will ensure that those in our community receive the food, care, and assistance they desperately need—helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

How it works
- Host a Dinner Party – Invite guests for a meal at home, a picnic or even a workplace lunch.
- Share Stories and Raise Awareness – Use this as an opportunity to talk about the experiences of refugees and migrants. We can share some stories from our community members to help you.
- Fundraise – Set up a JustGiving page and use it to tell your guests about the meal and also get them to donate there!
- Keep it Going – Invite your guests to host their own Supper in Solidarity, spreading the message even further

Handy hints and tips
- Keep it simple – Whether it’s a potluck, a three-course feast, or just coffee and cake, the most important thing is bringing people together.
- Make it fun – Try a themed dinner, a cook-off, or invite a guest speaker to share their story.
- Use our recipes – We can provide delicious recipes from our refugee community to make your meal extra special.
- Set a fundraising goal – A suggested donation of £20 per guest can make a real impact – they might be able to donate more!
- Share your event – Post pictures and stories on social media using #SupperinSolidarity to spread the word.
